And Marni Makes...Great!

Tonight I went to see Marni Nixon in her nightclub act at the Metropolitan Room...well it really was a trio act called Menage featuring Sarah Rice (30 years after creating Johanna in Sweeney Todd on Broadway). Although I tend to stay away from cabaret these days (most cause of the prices!) I really had a great time. Marni is singing beautifully and even though she seems to be reaching for lyrics it actually comes across as sponteneity, as if she is making them up as she goes along...most of the time this works well. Brava Marni. Tomorrow I go to the Film Forum offices and have a meeting about her tribute. No one deserves it more.
